Abstract | When intact teeth are used as removable partial denture abutments, enamel may be altered to create quide planes, rest seats and retentive areas. The effect of grinding on the permeability of enamel for water soluble spin label molecules was measured in intact samples. Then the enamel surface of all samples was ground to a depth of 0,2 mm, and the permeability rate was analysed as before. The results show that surface grinding increases the permeability of dental enamel for water soluble molecules. | |
