| Abstract | The innervated musculocutaneous arterial flap of the lip and cheek is a very useful method in reconstructive surgery. The specific technique used in shaping and application of the flap depends on the number, size and location of the defects to be restored. The method can be combined with other techniques: a local, regional or free flap may be employed to restore soft tissue defects in the oral cavity region, the innervated musculocutaneous arterial flap being used for reconstruction of the oral sphincter. | |
