Abstract		Dental implants are used routinely at the Deparment of Maxillo-Facial Surgery in Ljubljana. Statistical data show that a total of 27 implants were inserted in 11 patients during a two-year period. The group included five patients in whom 11 implants were placed in edentulous jaws to provide support for a partial denture or bar construction. In three patients, 11 implants were inserted to hold a bridge. In the remaining three patients, implants were used to replace a single tooth. The selection of patients, treatment planning and the related surgical and prosthodontic procedures are described.
