Abstract     Izhodišča: Pomen komunikacije je v osebnem, predvsem pa v poklicnem življenju ljudi vedno bolj v ospredju. Poklic medicinske sestre zaradi svoje usmerjenosti k delu z ljudmi zahteva znanje in obvladovanje profesionalne komunikacije. Zadovoljstvo in uspešnost zaposlenih izhaja iz medčloveških odnosov in je odvisno od možnosti zadovoljevanja osebnostnih potreb. Komunikacija in medosebni odnosi so eden ključnih dejavnikov, ki vplivajo na zadovoljstvo zaposlenih. Metode: Raziskava je bila izvedena s pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika s 5- stopenjsko lestvico po Likartu, z 68 trditvami, razdeljenimi v tri sklope. Sodelovalo je 120 izvajalcev ZN v UKC Maribor, vrnjenih je bilo 100 vprašalnikov. Podatki so bili obdelani V Microsoft Excelu, rezultati so prikazani s številom posameznih ocen, izračunane so srednje vrednosti za vsako trditev. Rezultati: Organizacijska klima v delovnih bazah je zadovoljiva. Analiza anket kaže, da so izvajalci zaposleni v dobrem kolektivu in čutijo pripadnost kolektivu. Delo so označili kot stresno in se čutijo preobremenjeni. Menijo, da za opravljeno delo dobijo premajhno plačo. Izvajajo tudi intervencije, za katere niso kompetentni. S pacienti znajo na primeren, profesionalen način komunicirati in obvladajo tehnike verbalnega in neverbalnega komuniciranja. Samo polovica anketiranih je navedla, da se pacientom predstavi in jim ob sprejemu stisne roko. S komunikacijo v timu so zadovoljni. Diskusija in zaključki: V UKC Maribor smo z rezultati ankete lahko zadovoljni, saj s komunikacijo zagotavljamo dobro organizacijsko klimo in profesionalen odnos do pacientov. Na željo medicinskih sester moramo pripraviti program izobraževanj s področja komunikacije. Ugotoviti moramo tudi, katere intervencije in zakaj jih izvajajo medicinske sestre, pa za to nimajo kompetenc.Background: Importance of communication in peoplećs private and especially business life is increasingly bigger. As the profession of a registered nurse mainly focuses on work with people, it requires knowledge and management of professional communication. Satisfaction and success of employees is based on people-topeople relations and depends on possibilities to meet personal needs. Communication and people-to-people relations are one of the key factors which influence the satisfaction of employees. Methods: The study was performed by means of 5-point Likart scale questionnaire and 68 statements divided into three categories. 120 health care providers of University Medical Center Maribor participated in the study and 100 returned a completed questionnaire. Data was processed with Microsoft Excel program, results are demonstrated with the number of individual marks, medium values were calculated for each statement. Results: Organizational atmosphere in working places is satisfactory. The analysis has shown that health care providers are working in a good team and have a sense of loyalty. They assessed their work as stressful and reported of work overload. They consider their payment too small for the work they have accomplished. They also perform interventions for which they are not competent. They can communicate with patients in an appropriate and professional manner and manage the techniques of verbal and non-verbal communication. Only half on interviewees stated that a patient introduces him or herself and shakes their hand on admission. They are satisfied with communication within their team. Discussion and conclusion: We are satisfied with the questionnaire results as we provide with communication a good organizational atmosphere and professional attitude to patients. Based on the requests made by the nurses, we will have to prepare a training program in the field of communication. We also have to determine which interventions and why the nurses perform them despite not having competence.
