Abstract		A retrospective study was made on our glaucoma filtering surgery performed the last five years (1983-1988) and followed by malignant glaucoma. The problems in early recognition of the condition and its differential diagnosis were considered. The study population consisted of 226 eyes operated for glaucoma, of 106 men and 107 women. One case of unilateral and one case of bilateral malignant glaucoma were treated and beside standard medical therapy the importance of ultrasonography was stressed in order to locate the aqueous flow and to perform an adequate surgical treatment of malignant glaucoma.
