Abstract		In the paper we present data on infant mortality, mortality of pre-school children and school children. Major causes of death are listed for specific age groups. Infant mortality in Slovenia is compared to other European countries. Results of pre-school and school children health surveillance checkups are presented. In the conclusion directives for changes in data collection system are described so that in the future more accurate data on health status of children in slovenia would be available.
