| Abstract | The main characteristics of adolescents and their psychosocial development are presented. Three main sequential phases: early, middle and late adolescence are described. Genetic and environmental factors influencing the onset of puberty are mentioned. The data on mortality and morbidity in Slovene school children in the year 1992 are given. The early detection of early indicators of adolescents at high risk for morbidity in order to prevent it is emphasised. | |
