Abstract		Eyelids protect eyes from damages and drying out and by twinkling they also distribute the lacrimal film. In order to maintain these functions it is necessary to treat the defect of the entire thickness in such a way that both lamellae are reconstructed, i.e. the inner conjunctival tarsal one and the outer dermal muscular one. I have described herein the modified reconstruction method of the inner lamella with the Huebner tarsomarginal transplant, carried out on 20 patients treated at the University Eye Clinic of Ljubljana. The defect of the entire eyelid thickness amounted to 12 to 22 mm (50 percent - 75 percent) of the eyelid length. The results are good, both from the functional and aesthetic aspect. The lacrimal film and the eyelid mobility have been preserved and the eyelid fits excellently to the eyeball. The rehabilitation period of patients is very short.
