Abstract		In tetraplegic patients there is a restrictive pulmonary impairment and one of the main consequences of this impairment is reduced clearing of secretions by cough. The aim of the study is to evalute whether an adequate respiratory muscle training can improve the respiratory capacities of tetraplegic patients and mainly whether the electrical stimulation of abdominal muscles in the early phase of expirium can increase the efficiency of cough. This paper presents the preliminary results of the first patient who has completed the training protocol.
