Abstract | Clamydia trachomatis (CT) is the cause of 30-65 percent of non-gonococcal urethritises in man. In the population of healthy men chlamydias were isolated from urethral swabs in 5-15 percent globally. In Slovenia the infection with CT in men is not known enough, therefore we tried to ascertain the occurence of chlamydia urethritis in men from 16-45 years of age. CT was searched for in 2 taken samples: in the swab of urethra and in the sediment of the first void of morning urine, which is ever more recognized non-invasive diagnostic method for the detection of chlamydia antigens. In laboratory diagnostics 3 methods for the detection of chlamydia are used: direct immunofluorescence test, enzyme immunoassay and DNA hybridization technique. | |
