Abstract     prikazati, kako so demografski podatki povezani z ozaveščenostjo staršev o dejavnikih tveganja pitja sladkih pijač in razvoju kariesa. Prav tako smo želeli ugotoviti kako je uporaba sladkih pijač povezana z nagrado otrok za lepo vedenje. Metode: Uporabljena je bila kvantitativna metoda dela. Raziskovalni inštrument je bil anketni vprašalnik. Raziskovalni vzorec je zajel 60 staršev triletnih otrok na področju Slovenskih Konjic, vabljenih na redni sistematski zobozdravstveni pregled. Raziskava je potekala v mesecu januarju 2018 v Zdravstvenem domu Slovenske Konjice. Podatke smo kvantitativno obdelali v programu SPSS 16.0. Za analizo spremenljivk smo uporabili opisno statistiko. Analizo razlik in povezanost spremenljivk smo računali s t-testom in analizo variance. Rezultati: Iz raziskave je razvidno, da 45 (75 %) anketiranih staršev, za nagrado ali tolažbo svojega otroka najpogosteje uporabljajo sladko pijačo. Najpogostejša ponujena tekočina otroku pri anketiranih starših z nižjo izobrazbo je sladek čaj (25 %) pri starših z višjo izobrazbo pa voda (37 %). Razprava: Z raziskavo se je potrdilo, da je izobrazba anketiranih staršev povezana z izbiro ponujene tekočine otroku. Starši so enotnega mnenja, da je kontinuirano poučevanje diplomirane medicinske sestre v zobni preventivi zanje pomembno. Rezultati so lahko vodilo v vsakdanji praksi za razvoj zobne preventive, ki se v Sloveniji še ne izvaja poenoteno.the consumption of liquids in three-year-old children in Slovenske Konjice. We would also like to explore the importance of preventive dental nurses% involvement in the health promotion. Methods: We used quantitative method. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Research sample comprised 60 parents of three-year-olds in the area of Slovenske Konjice, who were invited to a regular systematic dental examination. The survey was conducted in January 2018 in the Health Center Slovenske Konjice. Data were quantitatively analyzed in the program SPSS 16.0. We used descriptive statistics to analyze the variables. We counted analysis of the differences and correlations between variables, with the t-test and analysis of variance. Results: The study shows that 45 (75%) of the surveyed parents use the sweet drink most often for the reward or comfort of their child. The most commonly offered liquid for the children of the questioned parents with lower education is sweet tea (25%) and at parents with higher education water was more used (37%). Discussion: The study confirmed that the education of the interviewed parents is related to the selection of the offered fluid to the child. Parents are unanimous that the continuous teaching of nurses in dental prevention is important to them. The results could be guidelines to everyday practice for development of dental prevention, which in Slovenia is not yet unified.
