Abstract     Knowledge about influences of workers' fitness for duty on system's performance has been established on the basis of root cause analyses of reporting events. Human unfitness is manifesting in perceived stress. Higher the discrepancies between tasks demands and workers' abilities are, higher is stress. by different changes in work organisation and in workers' and managers' attitudes towards the fitness for duty stress level is decreased and human availability is increased. Measures and approaches in this paper are based on world's good practise and on the results of our own fitness for duty reserches in different kind of works.
