Abstract		The article is trying to indetify the gap in documentation of work performed by nurses and the need to fil that gap. It warns about consequences of nondocumenting or misdocumenting and it enhances them by concrete examples. The purposes and the principles of documentation are described. Appropriate documentation on variety of nurse's work areas is described.
Summary		V članku poskušam identificirati praznino v dokumentiranju del, ki jih izvajajo medicinske sestre oziroma zdravstveni tehniki, ter potrebo po zapolnitvi te praznine. Opozarjam na posledice nedokumentiranja ali pomanjkljivega dokumentiranju, ki so podkrepljene s konkretnimi primeri. Članek opisuje namene in načelo dokumentiranja ter opisuje ustrezno dokumentiranje na različnih področjih delovanja medicinske sestre.
