Abstract     An average dairy farm in Slovenia was checked for sources of raw milk contamination with Salmonellae spp., Sulphite reducible Clostridium spp. Coagulase positive Staphylococci spp. and Listeria spp.. Microbiological examination of raw milk samples showed that suitable milking technology may prevent contamination of raw milk with "pathogens" from the feed and environment. The prevalence of these microorganisms should be ckecked individually for each species, because correlation in prevalence of each checked species has not been found. Based on the conclusion, we may state that the so called indicative methods are not reliable for safety control.
