Abstract		The liver is one of the most frequently injured organs in pen-etrating gunshot injuries. Exploratory laparotomy should be performed in all patients that are hemodynamically unstable. We present a case in which a projectile penetrated a silicone breast implant and hit the fifth rib. Because of the implant, the pathway of the projectile was changed, and it advanced through the liver, bypassing the lungs. The silicone breast implant was one of the important reasons the damage was not fatal.
