Abstract     Disastrous circumstances normally cause a sudden and unexpected increase of casualties. It is typical that injured people are often found at inaccessible places. The specific doctrine and specific organisation of traumatologic service are characteristic for the traumatology in disastrous circumstances. Traumatologic service in disastrouos circumstances originates from Napoleon's Wars known as "ambulances volantes". In the last 20 years the treatment of injured people included reanimation on the place of massive injury, and immediate transportation to the specialised hospitals.
