Abstract		The majority of gastrointestinal bleeding are out of the upper gastrointestinal tract by origin. The endoscopy is the diagnostic procedure of the choice. By active bleeding interventional hemostatic procedures are performed with high percentage of successful hemostasis. The operative treatment is needed rarely. With the endoscopic haemostatic procedures the mortality of these high risk patients is low, lower are also the expenses for the medical treatment.
