Abstract     In the article, the basic urgent procedures in treatment of polytrauma are described. The importance of correct procedures that should be taken on the spot is stressed. Basic steps are described in determined order. The first step is to prevent the further treatening. Then the resuscitation procedures begin. The rescuer provides a clear airway, supplies a patient with oxygen and secures the cervical spine. If the patient doesn't breath or the breathing isn't sufficient he ventilates him. He maintains the circulation and substitutes the lost blood volume. Then he examines the patient, stabilizes the demaged extremities and transfers him on pneumatic pillow fast and safe to a hospital. Knowledge and experience of a rescuer are very important for the patient's survival.
