Abstract     On a sample of 314 boys, the pupils of the first forms of elementary schools in Split, the relationship between 14 morphological and 12 motor variables was analysed. Two pairs of canonical factors were isolated by means of canonical correlation analysis. With the firtst pair, negative effects of fat tissue, body mass and of body and skeletal voluminosity were found on the performance of those motor tasks by which relative static strength of arms and shoulder girdle, explosive power of the capacity of solving complex motor tasks, are measured. With the second pair of canonical factors, positive effect of skeletal dimensions was established on the motor tasks measuring explosive power of arms and shoulder girdle, relative strength of the trunk, endurance, flexibility, and agility.
