Abstract     The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic was caused by the newly discovered severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) which has, at least temporarily, transformed cancer care in many countries worldwide. The clinical decision-making process for patients with breast cancer should be adapted, taking into consideration the current epidemiological situation in each country or region. In the first half of 2020, many international or national groups of experts published recommendations to omit, delay, alter, target the volume or fractionation schedule for patients with cancer in the need of adjuvant or palliative radiation therapy. In the present review, evidence-based recommendations and expert-based guidance regarding radiation therapy for patients with breast cancer and the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on radiation therapy for patients with breast cancer are explored.
