Abstract | Heart rate (HR) is an easily obtained and frequently used physiological indicator of the response of organism to certain physical exercise (effort). HR is usually related to the exercise intensity - its values increase in approximately lineur proportion with the increase of work koad, but specifically for each individual. Therefore it is not surprising that HR has for a long time been one of the most important indicators of strain at all. More specifically, it is a good indicator of working intensity of cardiovascular system during submaximal exercise and a very good estimator of the intensity of aerobic energetic processes during submaximal exercise. However, several causes can affect HR, decreasing its importance as an indicator of exercise intensity. This is why HR should be carefully interpreted by using its kinetic characteristics. Especially the circumstances in which exercise is performed, are of great importance. | |
