| Abstract | The present article proposes the adoption of acommunity-defined, uniform, generic descriptionof the core attributes of biological databases,BioDBCore. The goals of these attributes are toprovide a general overview of the database land-scape, to encourage consistency and interoperabil-ity between resources and to promote the use ofsemantic and syntactic standards. BioDBCore willmake it easier for users to evaluate the scope andrelevance of available resources. This new resourcewill increase the collective impact of the informationpresent in biological databases. | |
