Abstract		From 1975 to 1992 abdominal cavity in dogs were irradiated for experimental purposes. Effects of preoperative irradiation on colonic anastomoses and pelvic fibrosis were studied. To simulate the effects dogs were irradiated with doses equally to doses which patients received in treating cervical carcinoma (true pelvis irradiation), and doses treating ovarian carcinomas (abdomino-pelvic irradiation). According to the economical view dogs were irradiated with equivalent doses but less fractionated. Doses equivalent to 40 Gys were delivered in 8 to 12 fractions with doses 2.70 to 3.20 Gys daily. As in the first series the dogs differed in body weight, failures were noticed, later all dogs survived.
