Abstract     Sleep disorders in children are prevelent and can have possible serious consequences for their health, development and academic performance. Detection of sleep and sleep disorders in children therefore requires valid sleep measures. In-laboratory full-night polysomnography is the gold standard for the evaluation of sleep and sleep disorders in children. Many other subjective and objective methods are available to evaluate various aspects of sleep in childhood, each with their strenghts and limitation.
