Abstract		We describe the classic caudal block technique described by the classics of anaesthesiology and teir own simplified technique. We recommend this form of regional anaesthesia for a whole range of operative procedures in proctology, urology, gynaecology and obstretics. Attention is brought to the possibility of an unsuccessful block and complications and especially prevention and therapy in such cases. Because of the simplicity of this technique and its strong anaesthetic effect we strongly recommend this form of regional anaethesia.
