Abstract | Doppler ultrasound examination is employed for estimating the presence, quality and quantity of blood flow. The physical principles of Doppler ultrasound apparatus and the parameters involved in the ultrasound examination are presented. The author describes the method of displaying blood flow and outlines some other determinations, specially the quatification of blood flow with volume measurement and sonogram analysis. The limitations, artifacts and pitfalls, likely to be encountered in routine clinical use, are discussed. Some physical and technical characteristics of the most commonly used modem ultrasound techniques, such as the duplex Doppler technique and colour Doppler flow mapping are described, as well as the characteristic features of various ultrasound transducers used in combination with the Doppler ultrasound apparatus. | |
Summary | Preiskava z doplerjevim ultrazvokom se uporablja na različnih področjih medicine, kjer nas zanima prisotnost, način in količina pretoka krvi v žilah. Razložene so fizikalne osnove delovanja doplerjevih ultrazvočnih aparatov in parametri, s katerimi se srečujemo pri delu z njimi. Opisan je način iskanja in prikaza toka krvi v žilah ter meritve, ki jih omogočajo sodobni aparati, predvsem kvantifikacija pretoka krvi s prostorskim merjenjem in analizo sonograma. Poudarjene so omejitve in napake ki se pojavljajo pri preiskavi. Opisane so fizikalne in tehnične značilnosti sodobnih aparatov, s katerimi se uporabnik najpogosteje srečuje, med njimi tudi dupleks in barvnih doplerjevih ultrazvočnih aparatov. Prikazane so tudi lastnosti različnih ultrazvočnih tipal, ki se uporabljajo v kombinaciji z doplerjevimi ultrazvočnimi aparati. | |
