Abstract     This paper presents a method for modelling domain specific anatomical knowledge to facilitate the reconstruction of the cerebrovascular system from different type of images. Image processing is assisted by a knowledge-based model of the brain's anatomy and blood vessels. The model stores symbolic, structural and geometrical information. A frame representation was used to implement the model since it provides a good platform for comprehensive description of important anatomical features and for establishing communication between the image data and the symbolic knowledge.
