| Abstract | The impact of different species of algae as a food source (blue-greens Aphanizomenon flos-aquae Ralfs ex Born et Flah and Oscillatoria rubescens (DC) Gom., diatomeae Asterionella formosa Hass and green alga Scenedesmus quadricauda (Turp.) Ber) on the growth, development and reproduction of Daphnia pulex was examined in the laboratory. It was indicated that the blue-greens were the last suitable food for Daphnia pulex, while Scenedesmus quadricauda was the highest quality species of alga as a food source. | |
