Abstract     With the development of relatively cheap and effective microprocessor technology the conception of nuclear medicine processing is changed. The need for rapid acquisition in some investigations is satisfied by dedicated microsystem and relatively time undemanding analysis by common time sharing system. The high performance system becomes cheaper and the devices are completly used. For each gamma camera only a low cost acquisition microcomputer is applied. New ADC was developed with maximal frequency 250 k counts/sec. and 256 x 256 matrix size, connected to a cheap microcomputer PMP 11 (microproc. T 11 DIGITAL) with RT operation system, 16 bit arithmetics, 10 MB winchester disc and 64 KB central memory. The acquisition software package was developed, similar to the GAMMA 11, intending to include our minicomputer system in the new with complete data file compatibility. As a central processing unit the PDP 11/34 with RSX operating system and VSVOl graphic package was used. The patient's file transfer was done automatically immediatelly after the end of the acquisition. On RSX system the software package for scintigraphic data processing, imaging and storing was developed. The computer net was made on our clinic, permitting a better utilization of our hardware. The new system is cheap, flexible and could be easily modified and further developed.
