Abstract		The author deals with the establishment of brain death in children as practicised following legal regulations at the University Medical Centre in Ljubljana. Some dilemmas how to approach the parents are brought to light. Appropriate communications guidelines are suggested. Standard procedures how to maintain the body until the organ procurement takes place are given. A review of children organ donors is presented.
Summary		Avtor piše o določanju možganske smrti pri otrocih, kot je zakonsko uveljavljeno v Kliničnem centru v Ljubljani. Podaja dileme in svetuje način, kako ravnati s starši ob smrti otroka. Zajema načela vzdrževanja otroka - dajalca do odvzema organov. Podaja pregled dosedanjih otrok - dajalcev organov.
