Abstract     Iatrogenis esophageal perforations are rather frequent complications of endoesophageal instrumental interventions. The anatomic position of the esophagus creates the conditions for infection spread info the mediastinum and pleural cavity after perforation. Various types of operation exist for the treatment of esophageal perforation, but the patient's prognosis depends directly on the place of perforation, the lapse of time between perforation and surgery, the age and general state of the patient as well as on eventual associated esophagopathies.
