| Abstract | A review of recombinant drug introduced into the therapy on the European and the US market including human insulin, human growth hormon, glucagon, follicle-stimulating hormone, factor VIII, interferon-alpha-2a, interferon beta-1b, interferon-gama-1b, interleukin-2, erythropoietin, figrastim, lenograstim, sargramostim, molgramostim, tissue plasminogen activator, dornase alpha, glucocerebrosidase, and hepatitis B vaccine is presented. The main part of the report is intended to their therapeutical use and, in a few cases, also to the comparison with the native substance. If the recombinant compound differs from its native structure, the changes in the chemical structure are described. For the majority of the compounds, the genetically engineered cells in the production of recombinant substances are specified. | |
