Abstract | The chemical synthesis and some immunological characteristics of a new acyclic apyrogenic and low toxis desmuramyl dipeptide derivative- N-(7-oxododecanoyl)-L-alanyl-D=isoglutamine (LK-404) are described in this paper. The influence of LK-404 on B lymphocytes differentitation measured with Jern's haemolytic plaque assay was compared with those of romurtide (Nopiar, (MDP-Lys(L18) at the doses 2.5 and 25 nmol/mouse. LK-404 shows similar effects as Nopia, especially at lower dose (2.5 nmol/mouse). The present data suggest that the humoral response can be augmented by LK-404. This compound also shows an immunorestorative activity which is expressed in an increased survival rate. | |
