Abstract     Astudy on experimental is presented. We mesured the pressure of perihepatic packing using an arranged tourniquet. Four different pressures (10, 20, 25, and 30 mmHg) were used and through catheters introduced into the right atrium, into the inferior caval vein and into the femoral artery pressures were assessed. We found out that pressures exerted with perihepatic packing in the range of 25 and 30 mmHg, which are critical as intraabdominal pressure caused the rise in the inferior caval vein up 60 9,0 and mmHg respectively without jeopardizing the renal functional or haemodynamic stability. To assess the effect and amount of perihepatic packing simple introducing of a catheter into the inferior caval vein through the femoral vein can be helpful in patients treated for liver trauma.
