Abstract		The aim of this paper is to compare preliminary results in the field of epidemiology, life expectancy prediction given by both Assistant-algorithm and C4.5 induction algorithms. Data base comprised results of epidemiologicl investigation in some regions of Croatia. Considering overall accuracies and all specific accuracies, both algorithms can be seen as having the capacity to forecast good results, i.e. achieving the life expectancy or possibility to do that. In the same time both algorithms were not able to make a good forecast of not achieving the life expectancy.
