Abstract     Electrochemotherapy combines chemotherapy with electric pulses in order to potentiale anti-tumor effectiveness of chemotherapeutic drugs. Electrochemotherapy with drugs that normally do not accumulate in the tumor cells in sufficient quantities, such as bleomycin and, to some extent, cisplatin, has already been well elaborated. In order to archieve complete tumor eradication immune system of the organism is required. In the study, with the aim to determine the differences in anti-tumor effectiveness of electrochemotherapy with cisplatin, LPB sarcoma was treated in immunocompetent C57BI/6 and immunodeficient nu/nu mice. Differences were observed in anti-tumor effectiveness measured by tumor growth delay and percentage of the cures obtained. Approximately twice longer was the tumor growth delay in immunocomppetent mice than in immunodeficient mice. Also, high percentage of cures was achieved, whereas in immunodeficient mice none. Therefore, the results clearly demonstrate that host's immune system is involved in obtaining cures after electrochemotherapy with cisplatin.
