Abstract		The healthy heart is like a tube and uses longitudinal fibres to expel the blood and circular fibres to generate the pressure. Data from the noninvasive determination of the internal surface of the left ventricle and its cylindricality proved this fact. It is further concluded that cylindricality is an indicator of the tonicity of the myocardium.
