Abstract		Effectiveness and efficiency of using specific system dependens on the user interface. The system is evaluated by user mostly upon user friendly and transparent dialog criteria. Speech recognition interface in comparison with keyboard, mouse and other devices brings essentially different possibilities. Our opinion is that speech recognition interface could be very useful in health care, especially in doctor - patient communication. The concept of speech recognition interface, its components and relationship with applications, expert terminology, specific user speech recognition and the process of training for building system vocabulary are documented to stress its purpose. At the end, the possibilities of speech interface in system SOVA are described and the integration approach, the way of use, benefits and limitations in primary health care are discussed.
