Abstract		Etiology, mechanisms, clinical picture and diagnostic options of anaphylactic reaction and anaphylactic shock are briefly reviewed. New concepts of treatment of this severe and life treatening condition are discussed in more detail. Importance of epinephrine as the most important part of therapy is emphasized. Continuous attention has to be payed to patent airway, sufficient oxigenation, heart function support, and volume replenishment. Dilemas regarding dosing and application routes of epinephrine are discussed.
