Abstract     A fourty-one-year-old man was admitted in to the emergency room of the General Hospital Izola in the cardiogenic shock after having taken unknown quantities of verapamil and propanolol with alcohol. The time of ingestion remained unknown. Supposley he fell in to shock approximately 60 minutes before admittion. He was treated with endotracheal intubation before plained gastric lavage. One minute later asistolia occured. In spite of parenteral application of calcium glucoheptonat, glucagon, epinephrine, high dosages of dopamine and dobutamine, transcutaneous pacemaker as well as a transvenous pacemaker without diascopic control, a heart action was not achived. The reanimation unsuccessfully ended after 95 minutes.
