Abstract		The relief of pain and suffering has been considered one of the most laudable of physicians' goals since antiquity. Pain relief is necessary to deminish neuroendocrine and metabolic respons to the stress. In minor trauma, drug can be used oraly, but on major trauma, because of unpredictable resorbtion, the drug must be used intravenosly. The doses are titrated and individualy given. The drugs commonly used for relief of acute pain are non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and opioids, one or both of them.
