Abstract     Background. Survey of availability and restrictions, indications and principles of myocardial perfusion scintigraphy. Methods. Description of the method and discussion of testing with different perfusion agents and imaging protocols. Results. Assessment of testing values and their importance in different groups of coronary patients. Conclusions. Myocardial perfusion scintigraphy is a noninvasive procedure that can confirm suspected myocardial ischemia, makes a good assessment of perfusion after MI and revascularisation procedures and offers some prognostic data.
