Abstract     Serous otitis most often causes conductive hearing loss in children. If there are no manifest symptoms, it is often not recognized. New studies have shown that serous otitis causes sensorineural hearing impairment of over 25-30 dB in the frequency interval of 250-400 Hz. Over a period of 5 years, a group of children aged from 3 to 13 was statistically monitored. The results obtained after successful treatment of serous otitis have confirmed that the conductive component has a large role in the loss of hearing.
Summary     Izlivno vnetje srednjega ušesa povzroča najpogosteje prevodno naglušnost pri otrocih.
