| Abstract | Cochlear implant is a device which imitates the function of the inner ear and transmits sound information by electric current directly into the auditory nerve. This prosthesis cannot help all deaf people; the function of the auditory nerve and central auditory pathways should be preserved. The preoperative assessment of our candidates for cochlear implantation is described. The two selected were operated on. | |
| Summary | Kohlearni vsadek je naprava, ki posnema delovanje notranjega ušesa in prenaša zvočno informacijo s pomočjo električnega toka neposredno v slušni živec. S tem pripomočkom ne moremo pomagati vseh gluhim, predpogoj je ohranjeno delovanje slušnega živca in osrednjih slušnih poti. Opisan je postopek pred operacijo pri naših kandidatih. Izbrali smo dva oglušela in jima vsadili polževa vsadka. | |
