| Abstract | The following international conventions in the field of drugs are in force in the Republic of Slovenia: Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs,1961, the Protocol Amending the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, 1972, the Convention on Psychotropic Substances, 1971, and Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances,1988. The Ministry of Health is responsible forthe coordination of all sectors in the preparation of all legislation in the field of drugs, which takes place in accordance with international recommendations of the UN. Three laws are presently in the legislative process: the Law on Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, the Law on Precursors and the Law on the Prevention of the Use and Abuse of Drugs and Drug Addiction. The paper discusses the content and objectives of these laws and the related problems. | |
