Abstract		The paper describes and differentiates hyperlapstic gastropathies, morphologically manifested as giant gastric folds. Clear foveolar or gastric gland hyperplasies are extremely rare. Most of them are mixed and show no inflammatory changes, with the exception of giant fold corpus gastritis due to Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection. As giant gastric folds are associated with a variety of clinical syndromes, requiring different therapeutic approaches, exact diagnosis is of primary importance in these lesions. Definitive diagnosis is based on histological evaluation and measurements of full thickness gastric mucosal samples, obtained by large particle biopsy using an electrosurgical snare.
