Abstract		Bakgraund. Dementia syndrom is described along with the problems of assessment of cognitive impairment in demented patients. uidelines for application, scoring and interpretation of a slovenian version of Mini Mental State Examination are given. Conclusions. The authors discuss clinical relevance of test results and give some suggestions for appropriate use of the test.
