Abstract		The paper describes a decision support system developed for biomedical research evaluation in Slovenia. The system was first used for research project evaluation in medicine. The submitted project proposals were evaluated using various scientific indicators, generally falling into the categories of bibliometric and non-bibliometric indicators. The commission of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Slovenia, which is responsible for medical project proposals evakzatuibm zsed tge systen as a tiik ub the procedures thay had to perform manually before. The system is implemented as a client-server system, using Oracle 7 database management system on a Unix computer on the server side and several client programs for data entry and reporting running on MS-Windows. In additin, we developed an interface from WWW (World Wide Web) to the Oracle server to allow access to the data from Internet using any WWW browser.
