Abstract     Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) are common problems after laparoscopy and may minimize the benefits of this minimally invasive procedure. The incidence of PONV can be effectively reduced by the use of appropriate anaesthesia and antiemetics. The recently developed serotonine antagonists have proved more effective than standard antiemetics, yet their routine use is limited by the cost. The most appropriate is a drug that is effective in a single low dose. The aim of anaesthesiologist should not only be to relieve postoperative pain but also to prevent PONV.
Summary     Pooperativna slabost in bruhanje (POBS) sta pogosta pri laparoskopskih posegih in lahko izničita prednosti minimalno invazivnega posega.
