Abstract		Assessment of the Fallopian tube patency in the woman is an important part of infertility investigation, its results being essential to planning the program of treatment. X-ray hysterosalpingography and laparoscopy dye intubation are currently the most commonly used investigations for tubal patency. Yet the recent development of hysterosalpingo contrast sonography seems to offer some new benefits. The new method can only show tubal patency, which is only one part of the functional assessment of the Fallopian tubes. It is safe and there is no x-ray exposure of the ovaria.
Summary		V članku avtor navaja vzroke neplodnosti in opisuje diagnostične postopke pri ugotavljanju le-te. Poseben poudarek daje diagnostiki okvare jajcevodov in spremembam medeničnega peritoneja, pri katerih sta danes v uporabi predvsem rentgenska histerosalpingografija in laparoskopija s prebrizgavanjem barvila. Opisuje tudi novosti, in sicer novo metodo ultrazvočne kontrastne histerosalpingografije. Z metodo je mogoče ugotavljati prehodnost jejcevodov, vendar pa je ocena prehodnosti le del ocene funkcionalnosti jajcevoda. Nova metoda je varna, predvsem pa se izognemo rentgenskemu sevanju na področje jajčnikov.
